About Me
Over many years I have researched this disorder in terms of conventional treatment options and scientifically-based lifestyle strategies that together influence the course of follicular lymphoma, and hence long-term survival. As a result of this research and its personal application, I'm fortunate to be healthy and fully active. My desire is to share the research I have done with patients having a similar diagnosis so that they too may benefit. But make no mistake, I am no walking miracle. I have taken three types of conventional chemotherapy, in year 2 and again in year 9 and 10. At year 10, which is the approximate median survival time, some of my lymphoma transformed to a more aggressive grade...a probable development in the course of this disorder. In year 20, I experienced a second transformation and in late 2008 started treatment, details of which are described in the December 2008 newsletter. For the last three years I have clearly benefited greatly from following the latest scientifically-based lifestyle strategies outlined in Article #3.Recent checkups reveal no evidence of active lymphoma. It’s a goal always thought achievable, but not realized until now. Follicular lymphoma is regarded as an incurable disorder. This is as close to overcoming that barrier as possible. There is no one thing that leads to this outcome. Success arises from application of the 4-Pillar approach (described on the homepage). By way of background, I have a master's degree in engineering, was a college instructor for 10 years and college dean for 16 years. In addition to the active management of this website I now pursue a variety of hobbies, camping and wilderness hiking activities while living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I can be reached at 1-888-333-5265.
